Stromness Glimmers
12–14 November 2026
Welcome to the online hub for Stromness Glimmers 2026: A Festival of Light where you can find all the latest information from workshops and light art to refreshments and merchandise. We will be adding to this page regularly so please check back here for updates and announcements.
In the dark evenings of 12–14 November 2026, the festival will transform the streets of Stromness into a free, spectacular gallery of illuminated artworks for all to enjoy and explore. Featuring work by some of Móti’s members along with a selection of other talented local artists, supported by Orkney Islands Council Culture Fund.
Inspiration for the naming of the festival came from the closing line of the beautiful reflective poem ‘Lux Perpetua’ by Stromness’s very own ‘Poet Laureate’, George Mackay Brown – ‘By such glimmers we seek you.’
What’s on
